health and well-being through the hands-on manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues.

It improves the functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic, and nervous systems,
and may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness.
Our

massage techniques

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a gentle, rhythmic massage administered to relax soft body tissue and facilitate healing. It is lighter in touch than other forms of massage and includes long flowing strokes, kneading, and friction techniques on more superficial layers of the muscles. It can loosen stiff joints, reduce muscle tension, and help clear nasal or chest congestion.

Swedish massage contributes to overall well-being and is widely prescribed by physicians to enhance treatment for insomnia, anxiety, and depression.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.

Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.

Trigger Point

Trigger point therapy is a bodywork technique that involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. Oftentimes, massage and trigger point therapy are performed together.

Trigger points are accumulations of waste products around a nerve receptor. Often times they feel like nodules or taut bands of fibers within the soft tissues. Trigger points form in muscles which have been overused or injured due to an accident or surgery.

The therapist and client work together as a team to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment. It is common to find great improvement after one treatment.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is, generally, geared towards athletes and usually given before or after an athletic event. Before an event, it is used to promote peak performance, improve flexibility, and reduce the risk of injury.

Sports massage is used after an event to help reduce muscle soreness and swelling, break down toxins, and increase blood circulation.

Shiatsu

In shiatsu, it is believed that disease is the result of blocked or unbalanced energy, so that it's aither depleted or over-active.

The human body is looked upon as a microcosm of the universe, the meridians vital organs are seen as governed by Five Elements and by Yin and Yang. In a healthy person no element is dominant or deficient in relation to the other. So blocked or unbalanced energy allows disease to take over, and it is either depleted, or kyoto, or overactive-jitsu.

Massage techniques like tapping, squeezing, rubbing, and applied pressure are applied along the meridians to unblock energy blockages and reintroduce the optimal flow of ki.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage, or pre-natal massage, is specifically designed for expectant mothers. The expectant mother's body is supported during the massage, using pillows, bolsters, or other types of padding.

Benefits of Pregnancy Massage include the following:
-  Relieves muscle spasms, cramps associated with the stress of extra weight bearing, and physical changes that occur during pregnancy
-  Reduces stress and teaches the mother to relax
-  Teaches relaxation, which is one of the keys to an easier labor and delivery
-  Enhances gestation process through increasing blood and lymph circulation, reducing edema, and increasing cellular respiration
-  Provides emotional support and physical nurturing; this may be passed on to the baby
-  Assists in reducing the stress in the weight bearing joints and musculoskeletal (bone) structures.

Reflexology

Indulge in the ancient art of reflexology to soothe away the stresses of modern day life.

Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hand with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. By applying pressure to a specific zone, the reflexologist affects the organ or body system that corresponds with that particular zone.

Reflexology is a gentle type of therapy, used to restore the body's natural balance as well as to help maintain its equilibrium.

Cranial Massage

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle and effective technique performed on a fully clothed individual.

During a CST session, the practitioner detects and corrects imbalances of the craniosacral system which is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding and protecting the brain and spinal cord.

Your therapist will concentrate on the head-sacrum-pelvis corridor, using light direct finger pressure to relax the target area, thus the entire body, restoring flow of energy to reinstate physical, emotional and mental well-being.

Rain Drops

The rain drops technique is the application of a sequence of essential oils dropped about 6 - 8 inches above the spine, like raindrops, as a client lies face down on a massage table. Several techniques are then used to facilitate absorption of the oils into the spine and nerve endings to release toxins.

Oils are also applied to the soles of the feet and shoulders for reinforced benefits that include:
-  Strengthened immune system
-  Relaxed and rejuvenated muscles
-  Relief from tension and stress
-  Restored balance to all systems of the body
-  Greater resistance to disease.
